Reasons for donating electronics to Free Geek Twin Cities
  • Part of refurbished computers are donated to other local non-profits and nearby Minneapolis schools
  • Any data on the donated devices are securely handled and erased, see our Data Security and Privacy page.
  • Wide range of electronics are accepted – see our Items Accepted page.
    • Note that CRT monitors and printers have recycling fee – see Items Accepted.
  • Our volunteers learn new skills by refurbishing donated equipment and receive a free computer after volunteering with us
  • We do not cut the corners and recycle the electronics responsibly – see How we recycle
  • Free Geek is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible to the extend permitted under applicable laws.
How to donate your old electronics to Free Geek

  • Or fill out the form below to request a free pickup and we will contact you within 48 hours to schedule a pick up
    • For pickups to be economically feasible, free pickup is offered for donations of 10 or more computers and other usable items such as cell phones, tablets, testing equipment, etc. We will offer free pickup for donations with smaller number of items but with higher value (such as newer computers or enterprise networking equipment).
    • Note that Free Geek picks up CRT/Tube/Projection TVs and printers/copiers only as part of large donations from businesses.
