Our Products

We offer desktop and laptop computers (mostly PCs although we do sometimes have Apple products for sale). We also carry many other electronic items. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, as well as cash or checks. Many of the items donated to Free Geek are very usable, and getting these items back into use is our goal.

Most computers come installed with the latest version of Ubuntu Linux, version 18.04 as of last update.

Store FAQs

  • Do you have (insert product here) in stock?

    The store doesn’t keep a list of inventory. We can’t tell you if we have something on the shelf because it might not be here by the time you make it in.

    The stock in the store varies on our donation stream, so we can’t guarantee that we have any certain item. Your best bet is to come in and look for yourself. If you’re coming from far away, we’ll try to find a store staff member to help answer your questions!

  • Can you place an item on hold so I could buy it later?

    We do not hold items that have not been purchased yet for any reason. We may hold large purchased items for a very limited time to allow customers to arrange for transportation.

  • Does the store do trades?

    Sorry, we don’t perform any trades of equipment or hardware.

  • Warranty / Returns

    Customers are advised to research items and compatibility before purchasing. What we sell has no warranty, but we will do our best to make sure it is tested to work, and if a part fails we will do our best to replace it with a similar item (based on what we have on hand and Free Geeks staff judgment) We will exchange items within 30 days of purchase if they are defective, but not simply because they are incompatible with non-Linux operating systems.
