FGTC Newsletter June 2023
Summer is Here! We have a lot of fun things planned for these next few months, we hope you can join us :)
Extended Summer Hours! 12-6pm
Through the end of August, our Thrift Store and Donation Drop-Off areas will be open an additonal hour, til 6pm!
If you’re a 9-5 style person, this one’s for you! (Remember, we are open on the weekends too!)
All other areas of the building and volunteering will continue to close at 5pm.
Visit us at East Lake Open Streets! (This Sat. 6/10)
FGTC team members will be at Open Streets: East Lake edition this weekend!
Open Streets is an elongated block party of sorts, featuring pedestrian friendly spaces, games, food, and community fun at different Minneapolis locations throughout the summer.
This weekend our table will be located on the eastern end of the event, near the YWCA and Pineda Tacos (yum) on East Lake Street.

We’ve started to post periodic photos of our thrift store inventory to give shoppers a preview of what’s for sale. We can't hold items, and questions about items are best answered via direct message/email/phone call.

Updated Mission Statement
If you’ve been involved with Free Geek for awhile now, you know that things have evolved over the years. Our staff and board recently put together an updated mission statement that we believe encapsulates us well.
“ Free Geek Twin Cities is a community of technology enthusiasts dedicated to digital inclusion, reuse, and responsible recycling. We accomplish this by providing affordable electronics, offering education and experience, and repurposing technology.”
Until Next Time…
